Russia Swaps Jailed Marine with Prisoner in U.S.

Trevor Reed is a U.S. Marine veteran that will finally get to see American soil once again. Back in 2019, Reed was accused of assaulting Russian police and has been held captive in Moscow ever since.
The U.S has agreed to send over a Russian drug trafficker who has been serving time in America. The deal made it through, despite the ongoing issues between Moscow and Ukraine.
Who is Trevor Reed
Reed, now 30 years of age, is a Marine veteran and former presidential security guard. He was living in Russia back in 2019 and was celebrating in a park with his longtime Russian girlfriend for a work related event.
He was intoxicated and potentially said some things to police. He was arrested and later convicted of those actions in July of 2020.
Prisoner from Russia
Konstantin Yaroshenko is the prisoner that Russia wanted back. He was a pilot that had been serving a 20 year prison sentence in Connecticut.
His sentence was for conspiracy to smuggle cocaine into the U.S. and was arrested back in 2010 in Liberia, but later extradited to the U.S. Russia has denied Reed countless times and wanted back Yaroshenko for quite some time.
