Bill Maher Standing Up for Comedian Tribe “The War On Jokes Must End”

Bill Maher, the host of “Real Time” on HBO, recently said his piece about the infamous Will Smith slap on Chris Rock. He closed one of his shows with some monologue pertaining to the “war on jokes”.

Maher, along with many other comedians and fans alike, have supported Rock’s ability to stand there and remain professional during that altercation. All Rock said was a simple joke, but Will’s actions are an example of the war on words.

Masher’s View and What he Believes

Maher brought back his running gag of “Explaining Jokes to Idiots”, by taking a look at everything that occurred that night of the Oscars. He stated that everyone is sick of comedians being attacked for jokes they say.

He wants the war on words to end, just like everyone else. If you do not like particular jokes or comedians, then you do not have to listen or go to their shows.

Results from Altercation

Rock only jokingly referred to Jada Smith, Will’s wife, as the next star for G.I. Jane 2. She claimed to have alopecia, which is a condition of hair falling out, but it still does not warrant someone to be physically assaulted on a live stage in front of a million viewers.

In addition, there were no charges pressed by Rock and he has decided to move on from the situation. As for Will, he is banned from the Oscars for 10 years.
