Palm Springs Handing out Monthly Payments to Transgender Residents

Palm Springs, California has recently approved a pilot program that allows 20 residents that claim to be transgender or non binary a monthly payment. This payment will be between $600 to $900 for around two years.

The proposed payout will cause taxpayers to fork over $200,000. By doing this, the city aims to be a “beacon of hope to the rest of the nation”, according to Christy Holstege who happens to be the council member behind the controversial plan.

Unanimous Votes Pave Way for Taxpayers to Fund Monthly Payments

The council recently voted in favor of this “social justice” policy. Their transgender mayor, Lisa Middleton, voted in favor of it but has openly expressed doubts about it.

Middleton is more worried about how the payments will scale up in magnitude compared to the issues surrounding “injustices”, rather than costing taxpayers roughly $200,000 over two years. This experiment will be partially funded by the state, which has already set aside $35 million for experimental programs like this.

Openly Gay Former Official Opposes Act

Former San Diego City Councilman Carl DeMaio, who happened to be an openly gay Republican, has opposed the program and claimed that it is “outrageous and discriminatory.” DeMaio is correct about the situation, that the program guaranteeing income will cause inflation to everyone and make the cost of living worse.

Some of these programs usually have age restrictions or other guidelines in place. But for this “woke agenda” it offers an offensive and discriminatory environment.
