Colin Kaepernick Practically Begging for NFL Job After Bashing the League over the Last Few Years
Colin Kaepernick, former NFL quarterback and kneeler during the national anthem, is attempting to get a job back. He has not played since 2016, when he decided to kneel during the National Anthem.
Roughly six months ago, Karpernick had compared the NFL to an 1800’s slave auction. As someone who has spoken negatively about the NFL, why on Earth would he be trying to get his old job back as a quarterback?
The Hypocrisy Behind his Motives
It is one thing to kneel during the national anthem, to compare the NFL to slave auctions, and support Black Lives Matter. Then on top of that, Karpernick managed to do all three and then go back to the NFL begging for a job.
In a recent interview during Michigan’s Maize & Blue Spring Game, he told reporters that he could help teams win games and make them a better team. This is a much different tone than what he has expressed over the last few years.
What This Means for the NFL
Karpernick has been seen, according to Netflix, as “recounting his formative years navigating race, class and culture while aspiring for greatness,” while also bashing the NFL for how they treat players during the NFL combine as “poked, prodded, and examined” before their slave owner takes them.
Interestingly enough, if the NFL is a horrible place to earn wages, why in the world is he trying to gain his old job back? Seems to most people that if you felt that strongly about it, even if you sound ridiculous, that you would stand by your words.
